Counselling with Michaela...
Hi - I am an experienced person-centred counsellor. I have worked with a wide range of clients, of all ages - from teenagers to clients in their 70’s.

I have extensive experience of counselling for loss and bereavement, self-esteem and confidence, anxiety, depression, relationship and other family related issues, stress and work related difficulties.

As well as dealing with a wide range of issues, I have developed a special interest in working with clients who have experienced ‘loss’.

This includes bereavement counselling, but also extends to clients who have experienced loss in other ways such as loss of career, relationships or personal identity. I also offer Pet Bereavement counselling.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

Besides private practice, my counselling experience includes being a counsellor in a large Further Education College, a local University, a Community Counselling Service and a Family Counselling Centre.

I am currently employed by a local authority, offering counselling to employees via occupational health.
In addition, I have worked as a counsellor in a hospice setting, counselling patients who have life-limiting illnesses and their families. Initially, I worked at St Ann’s Hospice in Cheshire and now, I am a volunteer with Marie Curie Hospice in Newcastle, who provide emotional support for bereaved families.
I have a specialist Diploma in Grief & Bereavement Counselling & am currently studying on a Pet Bereavement Counselling Certificate.
